The article also looks at highly capitalist Singapore, where land is a particularly limited commodity. When a lot of "free capital" circulates above the land, land prices explode, as happened in the wake of the financial crisis. But thanks to a land expropriation law, 86% of Singapore's population lives in municipal housing.
